My sister purchased a 98' Neon one year ago. It currently has a blown head gasket and a cracked block.
This car has an estimated $2,500.00 worth of repairs, which we cannot pay. It is currently sitting in the shop.
My sister contacted Chrysler when the vehicle broke-down and they instructed her to take it to a Chrysler Dealership. After the inspection, Chrysler decided they would pay nothing since my sister was the second owner. We offered them proof of all oil-changes and tune-ups but the will not consider them.
We believer Chrysler's instructions were a ploy to put money in their pockets. Our entire family is very upset with Chrysler, their lack of customer service and inability to stand behind their products.
We will never do business with them again.
I paid a lot of money for a car that has been a nightmare since the day I bought it. I have never driven such an uncomfortable, back breaking car. Unsteady steering; the transmission hesitates; it feels as if there is no suspension despite the fact that I put new shocks and struts. The gas mileage is the worst I have ever seen in a car, I just have enough gas to go from gas pump to gas pump so to speak. Excessive noise coming from the engine, window seals are drafty and the trunk leaks.
I bought it used from the dealer with 35,000 ks on it and supreme manufacturer's warranty. Still they were not willing to fix a lot of the problems saying that they do not exist. I had to pay for repairs out of my own pocket.
