"The Cadillac Fleetwood, '93 to '96 is the finest car ever made"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Nothing has gone wrong with the car.

General comments?

This is the finest car for the money ever built. You can buy a $60,000 import, or you can pay around $10,000 for a used '96 Fleetwood.

The Fleetwood is a sure head turner. I get asked at the gas pumps often what the year is, is many available.

Neighbors stand and watch as I wash & wax it in the driveway.

This car literally floats on the interstate. I would hate to drive all night, as the comfort that envelop's me would make it hard to stay awake.

The one recommendation I have is be sure and get the Fleetwood Brougham. The standard cloth seats are not up to the Cadillac tradition.

Shame on Cadillac Motors for discontinuing this museum quality automobile.

"...at the gas pumps often"

I'm sure that is the case with this car!

It is the greatest car. It took me 5 months to find one in near perfect condition. I bought it mainly as a collector's item and for long trips as I own a 2002 Olds. Instead, I drive the Olds once every two weeks so it doesn't rot. The Brougham sound system is upgraded to super concert sound system. I am disappointed when I arrive at my destination as I do not want to leave the car. I have had to pay extra ($10.00) to park it in an NYC Garage. It may use more gas than small cars, however you don't have to drive it as far. (Due to it's length) In a parking lot, it is easy to find as you can just look down the rows and it sticks out. (about two feet) I can talk about it for hours and I usually do. I really love my Brougham!!

I love the car. Gas mileage runs between 21 and 26 MPG. I have 120,000 miles on it and it uses no oil.

I am considering adding a 1994 Fleetwood to my vehicle list for my every day driver, leaving my 2004 F150 for weekends only. What are your praises and disappointments with the 93-96 fleetwood, and what is the maint. like between 100K and 200K miles? Anything else that would help me decide on this vehicle would greatly be appreciated. e-mail comments to smu2005@hotmail.com thanks.

My 1994 Brougham has been a good car. It gets about 26 mpg on the highway and around 19 to 20 in every day driving. Mine has 180,000. The body has held up well, no rust, and the interior, aside from the dash pad cracking, has held up well also. I have maintained it well so it looks and runs almost like new. Maintenance and repair is expensive when it has been necessary. The engine and transmission have never required anything major. The heads have never been off. The only pesky problems have been electrical. All in all it is a good hi tech automobile with 1960s Cadillac floating ride characteristics and power.

These cars are great. Mine has 130,000 on it and runs and drives like new. The gas mileage? Well highway driving we never get less than 21 MPG and up to 26 MPG.

I am going to start looking for another low mileage one as I haven't found another car of its equal.

I tow a 251 Checkmate convincor with mine. I added air lift bags to the springs and what you get is a tow vehicle that eats up half ton trucks!I'm serious, I have towed my 5000 pound rig with a 1999 Z71 Chevy and this Fleetwood puts it to shame, it's a torquey ole girl. With 150000 on the clock it runs and performs flawlessly. Normal parts, egr, ball joints and such, no biggie. Very dependable, will buy another!

In my opinion the 1996 Fleetwood Brougham is car without equal, although it is my first car which I purchased off a funeral home. It is a sedan model with only 110,000 km on it, and in great shape. This car turns heads! A true player's ride.

Pros: Powerful v8 engine, Loaded with Luxury, Collectible, great suspension/ride.

Cons: Difficult to park in city or tight spaces. Some Cadillac parts are costly. Heavy Winter driving can be challenging.

My only complaint is that I did not get a leather interior... its still a cozy velour (must have been an option with funeral home)

I just bought my 96 fleetwood and it is one heck of an automobile. Nothing else compares to this new classic.
