2004 Chevrolet Cavalier LS Sport from North America - Comments

"If you want a car that looks hot, and you want a lot of use out of the warranty, this is your car!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

A bad rattling noise was occurring under the right side of the hood near where the passenger would sit. had it back 4 times before they figured out what was wrong. During which they added clips which were not installed during assemly, as well as brackets that were missing.

My front passenger fog light burnt out twice within 3 weeks of eachother. It wasn't until the second time they told me the housing was cracked and water was getting in.

Driver's side rear view mirror was faulty at time of delivery and had to be taken back the next week to get replaced. It vibrated non-stop while the car was in motion.

During manufacturing, the sealing was not properly installed around the front windshield so I had some minor leaking for a couple months before that problem was resolved.

General comments?

This car looks great. The LS sport 2 door is sharp, and definitely turns heads. It handles the road pretty tightly, however the power when accelerating is a little slow. It has the "premium sound" system, which honestly is nothing special. I have had this car back time and time again for some pretty bad errors. Granted it is covered under warranty, but this is becoming a huge inconvenience in which the dealership I am going through is not being very sympathetic. I am looking to trade it in now for a non GM model. Buyer Beware and keep your eyes peeled a little more even if you are buying brand new!

I purchased a 2004 Cavalier LS in July and have had no problems whatsoever. I am loving it, and will hopefully be using it for years to come!

It is unfortunate you have problems!

I have also purchased a 2004 cavalier. It has been the greatest car ever. I purchased it in June 04 and now I have 17180 km. It has been a welcomed relief to the Grand Am I was previously driving.

I own the base model of the 2004 cavalier with a 5 speed manual. I got it December of 2003. This car is fast for what it is. I've done many drags with this car and lost only once, it was against an old porsche and he barely beat me. The only time I had to take this car in for any work was when I pushed it up to 105 mph, it turned out some sencor wasn't working right. I'm amazed with how great of a car this is and wouldn't trade it in for any other car in the price range.

You are drag racing and only reaching 105 mph I am surprised that no one else has beat you, but they were probably in Geo metros.

I own a Cavalier as well (2002 VL 4dr sedan) and as much as I LOVE my car, I can honestly say a Porsche would beat my Cavalier in a second. The Porsche 911 has a 0-100 km/h time of 4.5 seconds. The Ecotech Cavaliers do it in about 9.1 seconds and the 2.2 OHV engines in about 10.4 seconds. Allow me to doubt on that one.
