"Great car with expensive little parts"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I have had my Murano since 2003 with no problems. It rides great and is very comfortable with a lot of leg room.

It is not as good on gas as quoted, but it is within reason.

I find it difficult to back up in the Murano as it's windows are small on the back sides and it is hard to see what is behind you.

The car has been recalled for the alternator, but I believe they gave me a new one when I toke it in.

General comments?

My reason for writing this review is that I had a break light go out in the back. I bought the bulb for four dollars, but found out I couldn't replace the bulb myself because of the way the Nissan cars are made. So I had to make a trip to the dealer to get it fixed. They charged me eleven dollars plus to put the bulb in with the bulb I had already bought. The serviceman told me that eighty percent of Nissan's have to go to the dealer to replace bulbs and he said headlights and signal lights were even worse. I find this to be to be inconvenient and expensive little side repair. I will think twice before I buy another Nissan because of this.

Sorry pal, but I had to literally laugh out loud after reading your review. You're contemplating never buying a Nissan again because the dealer charged you $11 "plus" dollars to put in a bulb because you didn't know how? While that's funny enough on its own, I'm a 19 year-old chick and I've never had a problem with replacing lights twice on my Nissan. It's possible; you just need a Haynes Repair manual or FSM. And dealers are notorious for over-charging...you're lucky it only cost you $11. You're silly. It's just a brake light.

The way the fenders are shaped on the Murano does suggest that replacing bulbs could be difficult when you consider that the design of the lights is similar to those on a New Beetle. The lights on a New Beetle are incredibly difficult to replace and looking at the Murano, it looks a little daunting as well.
