I bought the car as a left-over 1997 model in the summer of 1998. Upon buying the car, I drove it across Canada (literally East to West), and over the 6 days I found it to be a comfortable, reliable vehicle with OK performance.
Its fuel economy might have been a little high, however the engine was new and not yet broken in, and I understand this to be acceptable.
Overall, I enjoy the car and would recommend the Cavalier to anyone who seeks efficiency, a sporty look, comfort and a nice price tag.
No offence but it's Z24, not 22.
No offence to the one who commented before me. There is such a thing as a Z22, I have one...
The z22 is a decal package in Canada. It is just a sticker and a spoiler.
There is a difference between a Standard Cavalier, Z22 and a Z24 for the '97 model. '97 Cavalier had a 2L, Z22 a 2.2L and a Z24 had a 2.4L that's besides several other extras...
I can also say that I have a Z22. I have a 1997 Cavalier RS/Z22. It came from the Factory with White Racing Stripes, a Spoiler, and Mangels Custom Wheels. I absolutely love the way it looks. It also says "Beaucage" on the Z22 Sticker, What does it mean? or what company is it?
I got a 97 4 door and its been a great car except for it ticks, but they all do, but other than that its been a great car hasent faild me yet and I'm looking for a z22 for my self.
I had no idea they made a z22 until I bought one..it's a cool little car... i lik eit a lot. so do the chicks:)
