Firstly, after six weeks the ABS and EPC lights were faulty due to electronic system. This was the beginning of the saga!In the first year the brake switch failed twice, on the second occasion I was stuck in a carwash! Loud noises from front drivers side resulted in new bearings. VW decided to fit a new engine at 19000 miles, under warranty, but no warranty offered on new engine.
As time went on problems with the electronics: warning light system, new water pump system, yet another brake switch,. Recently, power steering failed in the middle of Hyde Park Corner. Dealership then told me the power steering system was defunct and wanted £600 to repair it. The morning after receiving the estimate, the car started and power steering has spontaneously repaired itself. (However, I am avoiding Hyde Park Corner and Railway crossings")
Does anybody want to buy it?
They save all of the best bits for the Skoda Fabias!!
I find it very difficult to understand why you haven't been given a warranty for your new engine. Whenever I have had new parts fitted at VW they have come with a 12-month warranty. May be you should investigate this further.
