Hi I'm in the same boat with my 1996 Ssangyong Musso IL63200.

One minute it drives fine; the next minute it stalls and dies, splatters and farts.

The front indicator works when it wants (a new thing). Changed the globes, all OK, then just starting today, the lights on the dash cut in and out every time you apply the brakes; there's also the stinky fumes.

Shall I continue?

A door that won't open, fuel gauge that doesn't work... I haven't got all day... when it wants to go, it goes fine!!! But the fuel bill is killing me.

Funny, I've been searching online for some time; lots of people list similar problems, but no one has any solutions to advise us how to fix the crap bits that don't work properly.

Please help.

I had same problem with my 2005 Musso Sports 3 litre diesel.

The problem was the fuel cut off immobiliser (also could be key transponder or receiver on computer). We removed the immobiliser and fitted a fuel by-pass (no fuel cut-off immobiliser now) and it fixed the problem.

I believe I am 6 years too late to respond to the cutting out problem of your Musso. But if you still have it, the solution I can assume is, if your car is automatic transmission, the control wires going into the transmission get wet with transmission fluid. The sealer rubber ring in the wire harness is worn and ATF is leaking out, which shorts out the cable connector. This causes your engine to shut off.

Hi, I am looking for a solution as my 1999 Daewoo/Musso model MWDE4LT has been out of action for some 6 years. Tried crank shaft sensor and also cam sensor, and other numerous checks to no avail.

The car can be driving along quite nicely, then the engine just stops; sometimes it will crank up immediately; most of time it will just turn over and not start; leave it for a while and it starts. We don't believe it is a heat problem as this has been checked out.

Someone has mention OVPR (!!) which is located beside the brake booster; remove the internal component and check solder joints!!

Have the readers any other suggestions?

Have had the car since new, and never had any problems other than replacing tires.
