I definitely did get my money's worth to be sure. I saw one on Ebay last year. It eventually sold for about $5600.00 as I recall. It was sold to a museum!!! You were right about the original price being $7999.00 back in 1989 too. Mine was marked at exactly $8000.00 at the time!!!

The reason they are seldom seen now is because they did not sell that well when new, and they had very low resale value as used cars, so most went to the junkyard early.
So, although rare on the ground now, not particularly desirable.
