LOL quite the conspiracy theory. You think they’re intentionally hiking gas prices (and will pay for it in upcoming elections) to encourage people to buy electric instead? I’ve heard it all now.

Don't worry about China and India. They don't have to voluntarily cut back on pollution. Circumstance will give way to forcible compliance - China can, and does, force its citizens to do what it wants. They used to nail the doors of COVID-positive households shut to keep them from getting out. Both China and India have cities that are literally choking from smog, and they cannot hide anymore behind even air conditioned luxury high-rise apartments for those who can afford. A lot of electric cars are now being built and sold in China, mostly by companies we have not even heard of.
