2001 Ford Taurus LX review from North America
"Not value for money"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Repairs or replacements to window, defrost, rattles, small rust spot year 4,gas injector, DP-FE, brakes, retractable antenna.
General comments?
Expensive to own compared to any other car I owned (GM;s) and especially Toyota) and current second car (Toyota).
Ford is advertising its change to “Family Pricing”. Here is what it did for me and my 2001 Taurus. In Oct/04 I had to have the rear brake Pads & rotors replaced. Only 2½ years (22,500 km) later they had to be replaced again (which tells you something about the quality of Ford parts). The price under the new “Family Pricing” went up 81% for rotors & 48% for pads.
