2001 Chevrolet Impala Standard review from North America
"3.8L Engine. Big engine... Big problems"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
New transmission needed at 58,000 miles.
Intake gasket replaced at around 60,000 miles.
New motor needed at 67,500 miles.
Headlight cover fogged over and needs replaced.
Air conditioner and heater will only blow on high.
General comments?
Interior is very comfortable and is great for long distances.
However, too many problems for so few miles. My grandmother owned this car before me (she was 90) and didn't abuse it in anyway (other than maybe not driving very much and driving to slow) and still all these things needed replaced.
Our family has *always* been a GM car family, but this car has me thinking that GM sure isn't what it use to be... very very disappointed.
