2000 Kia Sephia review from North America
"Many cons, but still an alright car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
(Within the past two years)
-OVERHEATS!! Constantly! Sitting in traffic, Going through a fast-food drive-thru, Teaching a new driver to drive, etc. this car does not want to idle.
-Wheel alignment has goes out easily
-Replaced all four tires three times.
-Turn signal switch/steering wheel column came apart, expensive to fix.
-Dashboard is warping horribly.
-Exhaust leak, convertor went out!
-Timing belt went out
-Hard starter in general, but esp. in winter, and doors don't want to open/close in winter.
-Trunk has a few times decided to just not close for me.
General comments?
I paid $4500 for this car on in 11/05, and to date (9/07) have spent 2,608.l0 on repairs/inspections. You get what you pay for, I suppose.
The metal of this car is Cheap, Cheap, Cheap. I knew this when I bought it, and was okay with it... but be prepared for dings and dents, if you so much as touch this car it gets a dent from your finger.
It is nice inside, seats are comfortable for long drives.
Good gas mileage, can't complain there.
All in all, the car is semi-reliable and I don't regret buying it. It's good if you're looking for a cheap car to get you from point A to point B and don't care too much about frills.
