2001 Ford Explorer Sport review from North America
"A nice roomy work horse, that can be bumpy and hungry for gas!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Since getting it from a lincoln stealership at 3,500 miles has been a great car, now at 96,000 miles 4 yrs later this is all the bad things before I'm taking it in for big tune up.. Compressor cycles off and on very fast, the overdrive button not working so its always in O/D, rear defroster went out, and for awhile now going away a fluttering or spark knocking sound when car was under a load.
General comments?
So far it has not left me stranded, great work horse of a car and 4wd comes in handy in snow. Does great on sand and highway driving, and has very good pep.
Rides hard on bumpy roads and the front end squeaks a lot like its falling apart.
The inside cabin is very nice and comfy tho its set up almost like a mustang.. everything in good reach while driving.
Still can get 23mpg on highway trips, but the city driving is making this 6 cylinder feel like a big ol V8.
