1993 Acura Integra GS review from North America

Most everything that I have had a problem with has been routine maintenance issues.

I did replace the ball joints (year 3 under warranty) and now that they can be greased, no more problems.

I also find that if I do not make sure the windows are sealed after opening a door I will get a wind leak. I can only fix it if I slow down below 40mph and open/close the offending window (or if I really want to remain at "warp" speed I can sometimes open the moon-roof at higher speeds and then open the windows and close them then the moon-roof. Works like a treat.

I replaced the timing belt per the manufacturer's recommended mileage.

Also had a leakage problem into the trunk. It was identified to the back passenger window, however I installed a roof rack (Acura's) and so the culprit seemed to be the rack.

The antenna does tend to stick, but the dealership usually fixes it up for me at no charge.

The exhaust system was replaced at year 4, I initially got an aftermarket brand... big mistake. lot's of noise and less acceleration. Went back to Acura parts and all better. =)

I spent 6 months researching cars before I bought this one.

For me it married practicality with a fun driving experience. It has the space to haul my kayak gear. Can reasonably fit an adult in the back for short distances and gets great mileage while still delivering great acceleration and a sporty exterior.

I wanted the manual, but was advised to get the automatic for resale. Unfortunately this wonderful car was totalled this past week. I planned to put another 160,000 on it and I was devastated. My car never leaked oil etc. However I routinely maintained it every 3000 miles. Can't say enough good things about the car!
