2002 Peugeot 307 Tendance review from Germany
"Peugeot Assistance is my best friend"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I had ignition problems with this car. The dealer tested the engine using the diagnostic computer, but no faults found.
The board computer (was restarted before start) tells me a fuel consumption of 7,9 l/100 km (1,6 16V petrol) over 700 km (highway). The real consumption I calculated was 10,3 l/100 km. What was wrong? Board computer, petrol tank, my calculation?
After 10 minutes drive I decided to replace the radio with my old one (5 years old Sony)
General comments?
The drive performance is very poor, especially in lower gears.
The car is comfortable and spacious and the brakes are great.
I was not able to recognise the effect if ESP is on or not.
The biggest problem I never know if the engine will start or not. Now Peugeot Assistance is my best friend.
This car is my first French car. I wanted to give Peugeot a chance. I did not want to drive German and Japanese cars only. It was a false decision, because the 307 is not a reliable car.
