1998 Ford Escort ZX2 Sport review from North America
"Good-looking and economical"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The windshield washer pump and trunk solenoid are both out. No other problems have occurred.
General comments?
After installing an Iceman intake, Accel coil, K&N filter, and a Pacesetter Quick-shift, performance increased noticeably. I get 27 city/33 highway mpg. Handling improved with switching the stock rear sway bar with a mid-90's Escort GT sway bar, and going to a 195/60 instead of stock 185/60 tires. I ditched the stock stereo for a Pioneer DEH-3300 and Polk speakers, too. Long trips (+200 miles) get a bit tiresome, but it's a good commuter.
