1979 Chevrolet Malibu Classic review from North America

Valve seals replaced with umbrella type seals last spring at 82967 miles (minor & typical repair for this application).

The original 350 transmission is starting to slip a bit (Another typical repair).

My carburetor was recently rebuilt.

The rear window was resealed for leakage twice. Once under warranty in 1980, & again with a urethane seal last year.

I ordered my Malibu Classic sport coupe brand new in the fall of 1978.

I drove the car home 2 weeks later.

This car to this day still has an extremely nice & smooth ride.

The light blue vinyl bench seats in it are very durable, & comfortable. Plus, they still look good.

Other than the problems I listed, this car has been virtually trouble free.

After 24 years of ownership, I still love to go out for a spin in it, plus I get compliments on it all the time.

It is original, except for a repaint of the original shade of light blue metallic in urethane that I did on it 2 years ago.

The car still has a nice body, and the factory rally wheels look great on it.

The acceleration and performance aren't the greatest, but it gets good gas mileage, and makes a wonderful cruiser.

These cars have become classics in their own right. They have classy looking lines & make great drag cars, hot rods, street machines, & cruisers.
