1999 Chrysler Sebring Coupe LXi review from North America
"Good price for a fully loaded car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
All rims bent themselves except one, causing constant air leak.
Door panels fell off twice, did not find it the second time. Dealership would not cover it even though it was reported before the 100,000 mile warranty was up.
Transmission would not come out of second gear. I had to drive all the way to the dealership (about 40 miles) going no faster than 35 mph.
Windows leak at car wash.
Transmission started slipping at around 95,000 miles and is still slipping at 126,000.
Front left dash speaker blew, my friend had the same problem in his Sebring.
Passenger seat has come off track more than once.
Transmission used to squeak when shifting under a load such as passing someone, but does not squeak anymore.
General comments?
Great styling and very nice interior. I have to say with the problems this car has had the the past couple years, the durability makes up for. This car was purchased brand new in 1999 and has been drove to hell and back! Yet every day still starts up with no problem. This car has never been in the shop except for scheduled tune-ups and oil changes. And with 126,000 miles it still runs strong even with a slipping transmission.
