1995 Dodge Neon Sedan review from North America
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I purchased this car in 1996 it was a buy-back. The muffler was rusted at the time and I asked them to replace it. I found out later they had just spray painted it. The brakes started squealing about 1 week later. They said nothing was wrong until the warranty was up then I needed new brake pads and cylinders. The car bottoms out if someone is in the back seat. It shakes over 60 m/hr and wind whistles through windows. Recalled in 1997 for steering column, new battery in 1999, new starter in 1999, 4 oil leaks: a gasket, a hose, the seal and a rusted out oil pan. Paint bubbled and fell off in 1999. (There is no rust just a bad paint job).
General comments?
It's definitely buyer beware where the Neon is concerned. This car has been a lemon for me since I drove it off the lot. No one at Dodge seems to think it unusual that I have spent thousands of dollars fixing a car that isn't even 5 years old yet. My advice: If you are looking at a Neon DON'T!
