1984 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royal Brougham review from North America
"Comfortable, powerful, affordable, and most of all reliable!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
One clicking valve lifter at 370,000km, but a little lifter lube fixed that.
Could use a rebuilding of the transmission, but it still runs really smooth.
I put in carburetor cleaner every second fill-up to keep the carb clean, and free of dirt and carbon build up.
Basically nothing has gone wrong with it besides a few minor repairs and a yearly tune up, and every several months an oil change. The engine runs great, it's going on 20 years now and it feels like it will last forever!
General comments?
First of all this car has the greatest seats of all time. They are amazing to sit and sleep in, and the ladies really like them.
It's got lots of power, a little slow off the start, but if you're going about 40km/h and you put the pedal down you feel those 307 horse's pound out from that V8 and you take off like a rocket.
Lots of trunk room for storage or if you're like me, you can fill it with subs and amps. Looks really good with rims and tint. An awesome street cruising car! Oh, and the leather roof is one of a kind.
