1997 Chevrolet Blazer review from North America
"Nice vehicle, lots of problems, expensive to drive"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Windshield wiper module went at 50000 miles. Brakes have to be replaced every 6 months. Transmission started going at 60000 miles. Continual little problems, mostly with electronics. EGR sensor, Oxygen sensor, rear windshield wiper motor, stereo wiring and last, but not least, my battery light stays on and nobody knows why. Also, the clutch in my AC compressor burned up 3 months after I bought the vehicle.
General comments?
Getting really tired of the upkeep on it. If I didn't owe so much money on it, I would sell it. My Mom and Dad had a GMC Jimmy, identical to my Blazer in every way including color, except that their Jimmy had a tailgate and my Blazer is a hatchback. They had the same exact problems. I really like the performance and feel of the vehicle, but I can't afford to upkeep it and drive it at the same time. My previous vehicle was a 94' Chevy Cheyenne C1500 short-bed pickup with a 4.3 liter v-6 in it. My next vehicle will be a full sized Chevy truck. Chevy just doesn't know how to build small trucks. I never had 1 problem out of my pickup and wish every day that I would not have traded it off.
