1988 Acura Integra review from North America

Well when I got the car to start with I had everything tuned up, EVERYTHING. Cause the mechanic said that they were great cars and that I would make it last forever if I went ahead and had a complete tune-up. Well that was about 400.00 to do. Well exactly 1 month to the day I bought it the transmisson fell out. Well I thought maybe it was just time for it to happen so that was another 1300.00 to get that replaced. Well it went about a year and the airconditioning went out... 350.00 to fix. Then it was a good car for a while and all at once it seems both CV axles went bad.. 800.00 to fix... Then I thought that's it, nothing else can go bad now... WRONG. I noticed a while later that the engine seemed to be using oil. I thought it was a leak but boy was I wrong, engine "rings" were going bad. So I continued to drive the car and just continued to put a large amount of oil in it every week.. until I heard the famous engine knock one day when I was coming home from work, it only went down hill from there. I went and had some estimates on an engine rebuild and they weren't pretty, it was like close to 2000.00. So I parked the car and went and bought a new Toyota Corolla which has been great by the way. So the car sat in my yard for like a year or so and a teenage guy just stopped in front of my house one day and asked if it was for sale.. I told him what was wrong with it and he couldn't care less it seemed. So I was expecting his Dad to offer me around 300.00 for the car but believe it or not I got 950.00 from the guy! With a completely blown engine by the way.

This was probably a great car at first but apparently whoever had it before me didn't take care of it because all I ever had was severe problems with it.
