"A great truck with comparable performance to a car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The fuel gauge hasn't worked when since I bought the truck, and the previous owner said that the fuel gauge hasn't worked in about 8 years.
The factory paint (Silver and Gray) was peeling on passenger side on the bed and the doors, we repainted it ourselves.
Replaced the original thermostat at about 96,000 miles.
The transmission lost overdrive sometime before we purchased the truck, the previous owner never did any highway driving, so he didn't know the over drive was gone, replaced a solenoid at about 84,000 miles.
Replace master cylinder and all brake lines leading to the rear of the truck.
Also replaced rear wheel cylinders, and have had many problems with the brakes since the day we purchased the truck, ABS has been a big problem and has since been disconnected because it would keep the brake pedal locked up under heavy braking.
The drive train is gaining a small "clunk" but still proves to be as strong as the day it rolled off the assembly line.
Starting problem with the truck, all that needed to be done was clean the battery terminals.
General comments?
The truck is the quickest truck I have ever driven, it will out accelerate a good amount of cars out there on the road.
It handles great for a pick up truck and the steering is still tight to this day.
The truck is 4wd, however I have driven it through numerous snowstorms and haven't yet needed it.
Strong motor, it will outlast the rest of the truck.
Interior seating is comfortable, however the back seats are a little cramped for anyone over 4'10''.
