1988 Honda CRX Dual Carb review from UK and Ireland
"The closest a driver will come to a motorbike"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The brakes seem to wear very quickly this is mostly due to excess
thrashing and emergency breaking.
A clutch spring came loose, but apparently this does happen when a new clutch hasn't been fitted properly, And the tires wear awefully quickly, and this becomes a bit pricey once alloys are added, which is a must for this beast.
General comments?
The handling is going to be the closest you will come to a Subaru Impreza until you have one. It handles beatifully compared to the 1.6 16v injection and the 1.6 VTEC. On a rat run they will not handle like you. The car is lighter at the front so is more evenly balanced unlike it havy front ended brothers so the back end will not slide out like the 16v-i and the VTEC.
The car need no air filter the open mouth of the air intake sound like an induction kit. And the engine is incompatible to one. As soon as you hit 4.000 revs the sound and pick-up is purely awsome. and this is the closest you will get to the VTEC as they are all import so will be 33% faster then what they would be if they were built here so add 33% to 108 bhp. and that's you power.
Space is an issue, but you must remember this was a Japanese street racing car. and is made for 2 people not 5.
