1999 Vauxhall Omega elite review from UK and Ireland
"Has got it all at such a reasonable price"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Drivers heated seat not heating up.
Oil level sensor not operating.
Intermittent crankcase sensor fault.
General comments?
Always felt that the Omega would be a robust car after the Carlton build standard. Found a dark green Elite 3L V6 24V in grey leather with a manual box at a local garage - and just had to have it.
Total bargain for such an executive car. Shear power and comfort with all the gadgets, and not the drinker I feared at 33mpg on the open road and 27mpg around town (helped by being a manual, and driven with care - most of the time!)
A few problems as listed, that the dealer is sorting - eventually!
Eats up the distances with ease and comfort in leather with cruise control. A superb sound system with CD stack and integral phone, sat nav and traffic master.
Very pleased so far, but not looking forward to tyres and exhausts! However, all executive cars cost on tyres and exhausts - But not all give so much for such a low purchase price!!!
