1998 Chevrolet Blazer LS review from North America
"Frustrated and Disappointed with faults"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I'm not sure how many miles were on my vehicle when we started having problems, but I had owned it for a year and a half, so I'm guessing around 60,000 miles.
We have replaced:
fuel pump
water pump/thermostat
windshield wiper motor
alternator.
Currently needing to be fixed/replaced:
Passenger seat handle that has broken off
Hood release that is no longer attached to the cable, but cable doesn't release hood anymore, anyway
Plastic mechanism in rear glass release.
The vehicle is also overheating about every three months. We have replaced the water pump and the thermostat. There are no noticeable leaks, but definitely an antifreeze odor when the car is running.
General comments?
I have been incredibly disappointed with this vehicle. I have previously owned a 1994 Blazer and a 1985 S-10 pickup, both of which I loved. I assumed that this was just a lemon, but after reading other reviews, I see that my problems are pretty common with model.
Honestly, I can't wait to get rid of it.
