1995 Geo Metro LSI review from North America
"The only regret I have is selling the car.."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Replaced the clutch at 141,000 miles (broken spring)
Tightened a loose pulley bolt at 141,000 miles.
General comments?
Purchased used from dealer - previous owner put 99,000 miles in less than 1 year!
Commuted to/from work 130 miles per day - gave to son for 2 years at college, returned to me for 1 year then gave to my daughter for 2 years at her college.
Used it for another 1 year and sold it with 250,000 miles. NEVER had any serious problems, only a clutch and I was able to drive and shift gears without the clutch pedal for 100+ miles to the mechanic; drove from Reno to bay area with 249,500 miles (mainly downhill) and with 2 adults (big adults), luggage and A/C on we actually hit 55mpg!!! During our family ownership of this car we never needed to add oil between changes!
The only regret I have is selling the car instead of investing the money to do a full restoration. It was to date, the best vehicle investment I've ever made!
I am 6'2" and 270 lbs and I just "fit"; never had a back ache from it!
