2004 Toyota Camry SE review from Malaysia

What things have gone wrong with the car? Rattles sometimes appear from dashboard (seems to be affected by temperature or airconditioning).

Car's fairly quiet (but not in the same class of a Mercedes C or E class) otherwise so the rattle is like the Chinese Water Torture.

This from day one. Dealer has been unable or unwilling to solve this irritation.

Windscreen wipers now ride higher up on the glass when they are not in use. Seems like they have gone out of rig.

Squishy rubbing sound from left front damper over speed humps at gentle speeds.

Drive belts are already squealing yet this car is only 18 months old.

Aircon compressor has been very rough lately.It's quite a load on the engine. Every time the compressor cuts out, the engine seems to run better.

When going outstation, this car will require lots of steering corrections regardless of how many wheel alignments and wheel balancing you put the car through before going on the trip!

Wish I never bought the car, but just like many others out there, I too got suck into the marketing hype of incredible reliability and excellent quality by UMW Toyota. Total Baloney!

Except for the wiper problem, UMW Toyota Malaysia in fact could not fixed any of the problems mentioned!

Just 3 months ago, my brother changed his old Toyota Corolla to a new Honda Accord 2.4 VTEC after observing my new Camry gradually developing the troubling irritations.

Oh yeah! For those wanting to know how my brother's Honda Accord 2.4 is doing... except for some slight wind noise from the A pillar at 100kph or more, the car is definitely a better car to drive and own than the Camry!
