2004 Citroen C2 VTS 1.6

Summary:

Overrated!

Faults:

I have had no faults as of yet. So pretty pleased with reliability so far.

General Comments:

The car is quick hits 60 in low 8 sec. But doesn't have the acceleration to 60mph/100mph as my previous car Punto hgt. Hgt was FAR faster, it was in group insurance 14/15 and a 1.8 16v.

Other than that it is a pleasant drive and quite easily sees off plenty of cars.

Not as many gadgets as my old hgt also. Miss my HGT.

Well, yes, okay, but your issues with the car are basic traits rather than faults.

If the car isn't fast enough or had an interior you couldn't get on with then why did you buy it?

I have tried both: HGT and C2VTS. Both of them represent the new generation of street racers. HGT replaces the Punto GT and C2vts the Saxo vts. Now I think what you are trying to say is that C2VTS lacks the "Italian race feeling" of HGT, but it is not slower than the HGT. You must try C2 after 15,000 km where the engine shows what it can do. HGT it has more space, but it is not as good as the C2vts in handling. C2vts is made to go fast into the corner and get out even faster. Also the feeling you get from the steering wheel is amazing: as driving a kart. Good value for money, but probably it needs 5bhp more...

2004 Citroen C2 GT 1.6 16v

Summary:

It does what is says on the tin. Excites

Faults:

My only problem is with the rear breaks that make a noise when I reverse the car. but I am having the car fixed with new rear breaks this week.

General Comments:

I used to have a Saxo VTS on a 2003 model and I think the performance of the VTS is much better than the GT.

The GT is very nippy and handles very good round the bends. It doesn't rev very high and you always feel it should give you more.

The tyres seem to skinny for the car, but they do the trick fine.

Interior is nice, but when you think its the same interior as a C3 then you feel hard done by. lovely driving position.

I like the car, but just feel it could have been better.

I am the writer of the above. I have since had the rear break problem rectified and all is well. Had the car back within 2 hours and the rear breaks are as sharp as new, and there is no noise now when I reverse.

The brake sqealing things must be common as I just test drove one which did the same thing! Any idea of the cause?

2004 Citroen C2 Furio 1.4

Summary:

Frustratingly unreliable

Faults:

After having the car for 1 week, the engine auto diagnosis light came on. Had no acceleration. A problem with the accelerator connection cable.

Panel under the steering wheel was partly hanging off.

Boot catch broke.

After two weeks, the speedometer stopped working, and then the power steering stopped working. A problem with the speed sensor in the gearbox.

General Comments:

A very nice looking car, and the interior is well thought out.

Only really a car for two; very little room in the back unless you have friends under 4ft.

Holds the road well.

Electronics of the car are very dodgy.

Again more problems with my furio.

Had AA look over the car they found nothing wrong with it. Altho whilst at the garage the car had managed to do an extra 130 miles. Not much I know, but the car had only 525 on the clock.

The power steering and the speedometer has again broken, the car for a change is back at the garage. The car has been in the garage on 5 seperate occasions now and I have only had it for 6 weeks!

WHAT WRONG WITH IT!!!??

I got my furio about a week ago and mine is the best car I've ever had I don't know if its because I have the ministry of sound model or what, but its great, the dealer took 5 weeks actually getting the car 2 me from france, but I got it in the end and it was well worth the wait.
