1992 Acura Vigor GS 5-cylinder from North America

Summary:

A great car at affordable price!

Faults:

Rear brakes and rotors were replaced due to a protruding caliber (@100,000 miles)

Remotes entry system broke down in 2003.

Antenna got stuck due to rust.

Windshield wiper only works at the highest setting.

Exhaust system had to be replaced at 110,000 miles.

Occasional faulty security alarm-reason not tracked down yet.

General Comments:

This car is very reliable in general.

The engine is solidly build. At 175 hp, it provides sufficient power for most road conditions. I get 20-30 miles per gallon.

The truck is a bit too small.

Parts are relatively expensive and hard to find.

1992 Acura Vigor GS 2.5 from North America

Summary:

This car is perfect

Faults:

Small oil leak behind the motor where the cap and rotor are.

I ordered a new bearing and o-ring from the Internet for 5 dollars, and replaced it easily.

Window on driver's side will no longer work.

General Comments:

This car is fast. I pulled some weight out of the trunk, and replaced the seats with lighter ones.

It's slammed to the ground, windows tinted. If you remove all the parts for the air intake stock, there is a huge hole for a custom cold air, or in my case, cold ram air intake. You can pop out the front turn signals and put a scoop in there.

Also, the cat is gone, and I have a tunable muffler straight pipe, and I cut the shifter lower for faster shifts.

It's red, and I just got it painted Fox Fire Red.

I like the wood, but I also like burning Honda hatch backs with b16 motors in them.

1992 Acura Vigor LS 2.5L inline 5 cylinder from North America

Summary:

Extreme comfort and performance

Faults:

Ignition switch actuator at 128000 (cost 200 bucks).

Car engine will flood on occasion (approx 2-3 times a year).

Leaks a tiny bit of oil (just monitor it, and it's not a problem).

General Comments:

The car is very nice. It handles amazingly well.

It has all leather interior and wood trim pieces (actual wood and leather, no cheap imitation).

The car accelerates very quickly, and out handles the competition. It does 8.6 sec 0-60 times (7.7 for the GS model), and has a top speed of about 125MPH. It has been very reliable, needing only basic maintenance its whole life, with the exception of the ignition switch, which was 200 bucks installed; not a big deal, seeing as the car required almost nothing else its entire life.

It is a beautiful brown rosewood metallic according to Acura.

Overall a pleasure to own for a first car, and don't forget the 8 speaker sound system.

The car lasted me my whole high school career, and is taking me through college, while most people I know have gone through 2 or 3 cars by now.

2.5L inline 5?? Are you serious?

1992 Acura Vigor GS from North America

Summary:

I love my car and will buy another Acura when the day comes

Faults:

I am the only owner of this car and as of 206,000 miles I have had to replace the radiator twice, water pump once, shocks once, rack & pinion once, both inside front door handles for passenger and driver. I give up on the power antenna. Normal wear and tear such as breaks/tune-ups and oil changes.

General Comments:

This car is unbelievable! My mechanic says I should easily get 300,000 miles out of it. Never had an engine problem... very strong! I change the oil every 3200 miles like clockwork.

This car was paid off years ago and I have had to put very little money into it. It's very reliable and still looks great!

I met a person who bought a 1992 Vigor new. He gave it to his wife to drive just last year. The car had 700,000 km. on it and was still going strong - WOW!
