1992 Acura Vigor 2.5 from North America

Summary:

Irreplacable

Faults:

Regular maintenance items: timing belt, CVs, ABS replaced, antenna - all in all, anticipated replacement items - very good for a luxury class car.

My local Acura dealer was fine when the warranty was in place. I will NEVER go back to dealer. They told me my car was toast, had major oil leaks, an unfixable transmission oil leak and I should unload it and buy a new car.

I was very upset, as I have loved the car, and my independent Honda mechanic said they were full of balonga. So, as you know, beware of dealers and find a good independent Honda dealer (also helps keep costs down as my car is top of the line in their shop).

General Comments:

This has been a GREAT CAR. I don't know WHAT I will do when I have to replace it - as I saw in other comments - I am still on the ORIGINAL CLUTCH at 156K miles. After a car like this I know I will be over 30K for a replacement. I will drive this car as far as it will take me.

1992 Acura Vigor GS 2.5 from North America

Summary:

A hot rod for a family of four

Faults:

All regular maintenance except my CD player just stopped after 7 years.

Ventilation fan sometimes starts slow. What do you expect for 200,000k of hard driving in downtown Toronto.

General Comments:

Love the car on the highway.

Acura service is first class.

Blew a muffler 1000 miles from home, Acura Halifax took my car without waiting, replaced the muffler and washed and cleaned it in under 2 hours!! NO COST under the warranty!!

Can't believe the way I punish it and it still purrs. Haven't even looked seriously at any other vehicle to own. Bury me in it.

1992 Acura Vigor GS 2.5 I-5 from North America

Summary:

A four-door rocket!

Faults:

Other than a clutch (161,000 miles) needing to be replaced, nothing else has had a major problem. Of course I've had to replace both CV joints, but every front-wheel driven car has to have those replaced.

General Comments:

I absolutely love my Vigor. My friends also dig it, except for those that have to ride in back!

I have had the car almost four years and I've driven it hard, but it runs just as smooth as it did when I bought it. Will outrun a 2000 BMW 328Ci (with an automatic transmission). It is the best handling sedan I have ever driven. Honda has done it again!

Glad to see you love your Vig. I have a '93 GS, am 56 years old, and absolutely love mine. I put on an RActive exhaust, cold-air intake, and "Nology Hot Wires" spark plug wires. WOW!! Not the same car. Much improved performance and a significant increase in gas mileage.

1992 Acura Vigor GS 2.5 Liter Inline 5 cyl from North America

Summary:

A wolf in sheep's clothing.....

Faults:

Left front wheel bearing.

Brakes all around.

Master cylinder.

Tires.

Other than that, not a thing really other than normal maintenance.

General Comments:

This is a deceiving car, at first glance, the lines and styling don't really hint as to what kind of performance awaits the driver.

Rear legroom is a bit cramped, but who cares, because this is a beautifully crafted performance sedan. I love it!

1992 Acura Vigor LX 2.5 from North America

Summary:

Phat ride

Faults:

Practically nothing has gone wrong, and everything that has is my fault. That's what you get for going 150 down the highways.

General Comments:

This car whips like no other. It's the most underrated car on the road and its style has yet to be matched.

I added a spoiler, fog lights, BBS rims (hot), tinted out the windows, high performance cat back exhaust, Yokohmama tires and red emblems to finish it off. Absolutely gorgeous.

First of all. There is no Acura Vigor LX. I don't know why some many people on this site are putting ES, LX, SE or what ever. There is only two models for the vigor and it's either the GS or LS.
