1990 Audi Coupe 2.3 10v from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Affordable high performance Audi

Faults:

Drivers side electric window button seized - motor was fine though. Fixed inexpensively.

No major faults. Fingers crossed!

General Comments:

This thing can shift, no question. It's not a supercar, it won't do 150mph, but it'll smoke the majority of vehicles on the roads.

Handling is superb, the power steering is a touch light however.

The interior, whilst being very plush (walnut dash etc) is very nice, but not to my personal taste.

Coming from driving a Golf GTI, which had more mechanical problems than the average Lada, the Audi is a breath of fresh air - everything's so smooth, refined and leisurely. It's so smooth you don't even realise when you're doing 100mph. I love it.

Mate - If you believe that your coupe will 'smoke the majority of other vehicles on the road' then you must drive on damn empty roads. Nice car but really, it's not that quick. Drive an M3 or Impreza STI V5 to see what a really fast family size car is like!

1990 Audi Coupe 20V 2.3 20V from UK and Ireland

Summary:

A good alternative to a BMW

Faults:

Nothing major. All minor things. Bushes needed replacing.

Main problem was electric window system on the driver's door - failed twice.

General Comments:

Looks great and feels solid. Very reassuring to drive. Performance from 2.3 20v engine is great, especially at the top end.

The engine note from the 5 cyl engine is fantastic.

Interior is roomy and functional. A good BMW alternative.

I've just been offered 2.3 Coupe 20v with fullish service history and 140,000 on clock and converted to dual gas/petrol (170bhp and 60 mpg!!!). Leather interior, nice alloys and looks tidy.

Price £2,600.

Could anyone comment on the price please (or make any comment at all!)

Thanks.

At the time, that was an OK price ;)

1990 Audi Coupe Quattro 20v non turbo petrol from UK and Ireland

Faults:

ABS sensor replaced.

Valve cover gasket replaced.

Distributor cap and rotor replaced.

General Comments:

Great car but has annoying problem dealer can't fix or recognise - on deceleration there is a dead spot in rpm. Around 3,000 rpm shoots down to 2,000. Happens only on deceleration and when running temp. is reached. Causes rough down shift and coasting. VERY ANNOYING INDEED.
