I bought my car with the factory BMW battery, and it died about a week after I bought it.
My airbag sensors both failed.
I have done some heavy upgrading to the suspension and engine. I used to own a Mustang GT, that car would neer keep up with this. My car sits about 1.5 inches off the ground, and has NO body roll. I replaced the factory 155mph speedometer with a digital speedometer. I have had this car at 173mph on the interstate. I have beaten almost every car I have raced. I have even beaten 2 600cc bikes. My 0-60 is under 4 seconds, and my quarter mile is a bit over 10 seconds. I removed the rear seats and upgraded the front seats to Sparco racing seats. I am actually selling my car. I am looking for a Mitsubishi 3000GT, or an Audi S4.
Good luck with selling it, as I seriously doubt anyone will want to buy it.
This kids has big dreams, keep dreaming.
Unless you have a supercharged M3 engine in there, then your 0-60 sounds unlikely!
Doubt whether your 1/4 mile time is accurate.
173mph, would the gearing even allow this?
I have an e36 328i. The gearing would allow for 173mph, but only just. I have had 140mph at about 5300rpm; of course that's not flat out. The 2796cc engine in the 328i is 193bhp, but can easily be increased to around 240bhp (same as US spec M3) with the addition of a M50 manifold as it's 40% larger than the one fitted as standard, a M3 throttle body and a remap. I haven't done this to my car but if anyone isn't convinced, simply check the BMW forums. With other additions such as manifolds, exhausts, and more (all from the M3) you would no doubt see near 300bhp as the 328 is only 200cc smaller than the non evo M3. Top speed for the 285bhp euro/uk spec M3 is 168mph and the newer evo version with a 3.2 litre 321bhp engine can do 173mph.
What this guy is saying is JUST about possible, but still it's unlikely. And the 0 - 60 in 4 secs seems plainly ridiculous.
