I have a 2002 Buick LeSabre Limited, purchased new, with 175,000 kilometers on it in three years. Have a problem with the steering wheel control button lights going out, as well as others on the A/C dash panel. Now the heater motor is hit or miss whether it wants to run or not. Light bulbs in the trunk cover are a mystery to replace. Otherwise, car has been problem free, good gas mileage and satisfactory 3.8 power. Enjoyable car to drive.

2002 Buick LeSabre Custom 3.8 from North America

Summary:

G.M. junk

Faults:

Car developed engine knock at 8,000 in cold weather. Two trips to the dealer and a call to G.M. resulted in my being told that this was a normal knock and if I signed a disclaimer they would extend my engine warranty to 75,000 miles. Also G.M. recall for new manifold bolts resulted in a scratched paint job. Car now has a severe water leak which fills up the rear passenger floor. Two trips to the dealer still no satisfaction.

General Comments:

Car is not really up to Buick standards.Buy a cheap Chevy if you like G.M. cars save 10,000 bucks.

In 2004 my 1988 LeSabre finally gave up the ghost at 241,000!!! Loved that car and will buy another. Sure I had to replace some things like any other car, but nothing major or over $400. It also had some quirks, but it served me well, a very comfortable riding car that I really loved.

My sister drove my parents 1993 Buick LeSabre three years ago from Ohio to Arizona after my car was stolen. And, since then, after 170,000 miles, it is still running perfectly. Minor repairs for a car with high miles. I love this car.
