"Buy only if you have the money to repair frequently"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I have owned this car for three months, but have only been able to drive it for about half of that time because it's been in the shop for the other month and a half. The problems I've had or am having with it are as follows:

-replaced the fuel regulator at ~52,000 miles.

-have mold in the air conditioning compressor which is causing a nasty smell every time I turn on the air/vent/heat. I've had that cleaned 3 times without much luck. Because of it's location under the hood, it's too hard to get to to manually clean, according to the mechanics.

-blown throttle body gasket at ~54,000.

-the transmission solenoids are going out, causing my car to act like complete transmission failure at very dangerous times (like the middle of intersections). However, the dealer is perplexed because the service engine light doesn't go on. Everyone else has figured out the problem except them. That will be a very expensive repair.

My previous car was a 1994 Buick Regal with 163,000 miles on it and I had no major repairs with it ever. I'm very disappointed that GM cut corners on reliability and customer service. I want to like this car, but don't get to drive it enough to try.

General comments?

I love the ride of the car, but parking in the city is a nightmare. I can do it, but the people around me ding the heck out of it because we fill the space up. Therefore we park out all by ourselves.

Great leg room, even for my family of 6'0" -6'6".

Needs more independent lights for reading in the backseat. A necessity with little kids.

Absolutely no get up and go, but that may be due to my solenoid issues...

Just re-built my 03 LeSabre transmission at 75,000 kilometers.

Lock-up solenoid valves jerked in & out & felt like an engine misfire.

Valves had worn into the inner case & wouldn't seal.
