Faults:

The car has been a dream...the only problem is that someone put the lug nuts on too tight.

Fast as I want it; I got it up to 100 mph never over afraid of what it can do. I get 26mpg in town and 36mpg on hiway...

1988 Buick Regal Limited 2.8 from North America

Summary:

Costly, high maintenance, slow, piece of junk!

Faults:

Water pump went out the day I bought it.

Alternator went out a few hundred miles later.

Battery had to be replaced twice.

Rear View mirror fell off.

Front windshield cracked on a hot day.

Rear defroster wouldn't work.

Leather seats were cracked and worn out.

Radio buttons had a plastic cover over them, and it cracked and fell off.

Turn signals wouldn't work right due to a wiring problem.

Horn came on one morning about 4:00am. for no reason what so ever, and wouldn't turn off.

Emergency brakes didn't work.

Replaced left rear brake light twice.

Had to replace coil pack, spark plugs and wires.

Had to replace rotor on right rear side.

Engine blew up.

General Comments:

I would have to say that the car at least looked nice. (On the outside).

The performance of the car was horrible. It had no power at all.Well, maybe more than a Geo Metro. :)

The car had been wrecked and fixed, and repainted before I bought it.

I don't think that I would ever buy another Buick.

I would recommend you get a Buick Regal with low miles.

My 1987 Buick Regal is super reliable. It is a joy to drive.

It's a V8 and I love it. What you bought was too old.

An 87 with low miles in great shape is sweet.

1988 Buick Regal Limited 2.8 Litre V6 from North America

Summary:

GM is the way to go!

Faults:

When I bought the car, the hood release cable was broken, the tires were defective, and the glove box was broken.

I later found out that all the rotors needed to be replaced. That cost me about $200. The PCV valve was also clogged so we cleaned it. The hood release was also rigged out the front grille onto a bolt that I pool to open the hood. Tires cost about $300 but well worth it. I also recently got 2 hubcaps from a junkyard because the car came with only 2. Other than that, the car runs like a champ.

General Comments:

I love this car. I am willing to part with my ranger. For now. Handles great. Good response.

1988 Buick Regal Custom 5<sp> from North America

Summary:

I love this car it was one of the best deals I've ever had

Faults:

As of right now the only thing that has gone wrong was I had to change the brakes and a fog lamp relay there were a few things wrong with it when I got it, but it was due to the person who owned it before me unhooked a lot of wiring, but I fixed it all I paid $2000 for this regal it preforms very well as a every day car and a street racing car.

General Comments:

So far this car has proved (very) fast.

It likes to jerk when I'm slanted on banks of the race tracks a little as if the downward slope is torward the driver side it jerks that way.

Over all I'm very pleased with this car havin almost 200,000 miles on it it looks and run like new.

Under the hood it look as if the motor were bran new.

1988 Buick Regal from North America

Summary:

If your looking for low class luxury and comfort this is the car for you

Faults:

I bought the car from an elderly lady thinking that it only had 45000 miles on it, only later to learn that the odometer did not work.

Liner is falling down not to include the stuff under the liner that is constantly falling all over the place.

The carpet is coming out from the seems.

The dash also has come from the seems like it shrunk up do to heat.

I can't tell what the controls are for the A/C because the labels for the controls have all fallen off.

Last, but not least the radio has this horrible static sound even when you have the volume turned all the way down.

General Comments:

Other than that I have had no engine problems or have had any outrageously expensive problems.

I was given a cherry 1988 Buick regal, which had a similar static problem with the left front speaker. Gouts of loud static, unrelated to volume setting, although altering the spkr balance seemed to help. Mysteriously, it has gone away about 6 months after we started driving this car.
