1993 Buick Regal GS review from North America
"Good Value for a Nice Looking Comfortable and Quick Car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Bushing in the rear suspension has come out at the end of the plastic or fiberglass suspension spring. This causes the car to have an annoying groaning when turning and over bumps. The estimated repair bill was over $500 due to lack of part availablity; requires buying a whole new spring. Also the steering column had to be replaced due to failure of the internal gearing which connects the lock cylinder to the starting mechanism. Cost: $450. Armrest vinyl is ripping.
Car has a slight whine coming from the engine. Changed spark plugs/wires and checked power steering, and there's still that sound. Nothing terrible, just makes me wonder. I've heard it on other GM's.
General comments?
The GS Model overall a terrific value. The two door version is vastly better looking than the 4 door Regals.
Good engine, nice interior for it's age.
If you can find a used Regal GS that's been taken well care of, buy it.
There's not much else in this price range that can compare with this car.
