"Never touch one; it's a deal with the devil"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Front struts, starter motor, air pump (s), power steering line, passenger window, trunk leak, sunroof leak, Bose system, intake plenum tear and other rough idle issues, wheel well rust, TCC solenoid.

General comments?

Fast car, comfortable on long road trips, plenty of get up in the rear wheels off the line, but, extremely poor build quality. I cannot believe that this car cost nearly $48K when it came out, what a joke. When I pulled off the dashboard to unplug the burned out Bose center speaker, there was cotton ATHLETIC TAPE, from the FACTORY, wrapped around a screw mount to hold it in place on the passenger side.

Constant pricey repair bills. Total disappointment besides how "pimp" the car looks and feels rolling along. All owners of these cars will eventually become victims.

You think those MINOR items are bad, wait til the headbolts pull out of the block. The Northstar V8 is one of the fastest, best sounding, smoothest engines on the PLANET... with one of the WORST design deficiencies to go with it. Headgasket/headbolt failure in FWD car with LIMITED space is a recipe for disaster, and ALL Northstars except for POSSIBLY the RWD version (the cooling system was redesigned) will eventually experience the problem. Then the motor has to be REMOVED from the car and all the bolt holes have to be drilled, the cost is between 2500-4500.00 depending on who does it, and who is WILLING to touch it. The best way to avoid this problem is to CHANGE YOUR COOLANT ON TIME, EVERY TIME the owners manual recommends it!

I've had several Sevilles and while they are gorgeous to look at, it is indeed, a deal with the devil.

How can you judge a car when you don't even know where the drive wheels are. The Seville is a FWD (front wheel drive) not rear. I have an 02; never had a problem. Thanks.
