Left blinker, doesn't reset. It's a recall.
Seats ripping.
Trunk leaks after a car wash.
It has some serious pick up. Perhaps too much.
Due to the power that she has, the tires usually have a hard time gripping in rain or snow.
Little things break off that don't mean much until the problems compound. Then it just becomes annoying.
The rear seats seem to be cheaply made, they don't fold down but because of how flimsy they are, it shouldn't cost much to replace them.
It is a good first car. If you want to make it sporty you have a nice clean pad to work with. There are so many kits available and spoilers to choose from. They all enhance the look of the car. Keep in mind it was originally built for racing.
A 3.2 automatic, what kind of racing are you talking about? How about the 2.3 stick and some nitrous?
There were no 3.2's only 3.1's, and isn't a bigger engine faster???
There were 3.4's made in 96 I believe, and no, bigger doesn't mean faster, take in account the weight of a bigger engine, compression ratios and add on's like superchargers and turbo's (which you can get for the 3.1!!!) and you get an infinite list of arrangements!. At 180lbs/ft of torque and 135hp, the base 3.1 factory model (of course) is the best engine out there, Quad four's are just too fragile and have much less torque!
Acutally the quad4's had 180 HP and only slightly less torque than the 6's (about 150 ftlbs).
The fastest Beretta combination is the quad4 with the 5 speed stick. There are people running 14's with that and a shot of N2O.
The 2.3 HO quad4 haves 185hp and 185ftlbs torque. at 7,200 rpm's.
Anyone who thinks they can run nitrous oxide in a quad 4 without frying it, you must have been lucky because the quad 4 is this most worthless engine ever made. it overheats and blows gaskets. well known fact. as for the v6/4 banger war, a car is fast depending on how big/heavy it is and how big the engine is pulling the weight, both together. like a tiny car runs great off a 4 cylinder because it weighs a lot less than a mid size car. a mid size car with a 4 cylinder will drag ass and everything will wear out faster from working so much harder. I think any mid size car will run better longer with a v6, 4 cylinders are for the tiny spam can cars. -- I had a 1989 chevy celebrity with a 2.8 v6 in it, I could roast the tires off easy and it got 30 mpg on the highway. on the other hand, my 96 ford contour, about the same size car, with a 4 cyl, only got 26 mpg on the highway.. also was very slow. also I do believe that how a car performs has a lot to do with how it's driven and also where it was made. sometimes the same exact car will run forever for one person and fall apart without explanation for another, because it was manufactured by different workers. delivering pizzas is really only terrible on your car if you drive on terrible roads or beat the hell out of it. I had a 91 isuzu stylus (1.6L dohc 5 sp manual) and I put 25k on it in under 9 months, I took care of it and never once did it break even with 165k on it. but I had a 88 cavalier (2.0 auto) that I put 20k on in 6 months and it fell apart because of heavily bumpy roads and the engine blew because I didn't take care of it.
