"Cheap and bulletproof!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
One frost plug seeped coolant.
The cassette player didn't work.
General comments?
I bought this car at an auction for $300. It was full of dog hair and a lot of the interior trim pieces were broken. I spent a few day cleaning it and gluing all the bits back together, and was it ever worth it!
This car always started right up, was comfortable to drive (the driver seat even tilts back and forth), was smooth on the highway, and cruised happily at 120 km/h.
I could get about 700km out of a full tank, and the transmission shrugged of my best power shifts without so much as a missed gear.
I just sold it for $1000, so I could put my Mustang back on the road. What was I thinking? If you can find one with the 2.0 push rod motor, take it! They are current enough in styling that when you pull into someone's driveway, it still looks like a late model ride. No one has to know that you got it cheap!
