Hmmm bet your S-10 couldn't beat mine either- and it is just stock. They don't make them like they used to boys!
I have a car like yours, My fastest speed is 147.5 at 17 seconds. Oh and it's a Brandy new 350 with a brandy new turbo-700 with overdrive. 2:73 rear.. I have the slip to prove.. Um, sorry, but if you put those mods on any car it is going to fly, and beating those cars in nothing new, sorry guy, but this car is kinda slow compaired to the 5.0 Mustangs, (like the one I own).
Yeah, too bad those Ford 5.0's drop rods and knock like crazy. Good luck getting over 150,00 miles on one and still having an engine that doesn't clatter like a diesel, or one burns oil and has no compression. The Chevy 5.0 will still be running when your silly blue oval is sitting in the shop getting a rebuilt motor. Chevy, like a rock.
Uh huh... The Ford is the better engine and the 5.0 is super reliable if you know how to drive it. I have had more than one good mechanic tell me the Camaros from the 80's were nothing more than glorified Impalas. The rear ends are crap and blow out easily and the trannies are garbage because they were meant for a 70 year old to go get the groceries with. You couldn't even get a 5 speed in the 5.7 cars (good car for your girlfriend to tool around in) The T-5 5-speed in the Mustang is bullet proof. Mustangs wipe the pavement with ANY Camaro stock versus stock until '93 when they put the Corvette LT1 in the Camaro. Funny thing is, the Mustang still outsold the Camaro 3 to 1 even when it was the slower car!!

Never has an IROC beaten a 5.0 Mustang stock vs. stock. Even the 5.7 IROC was only good for around 6.7 to 60 due to the pitiful AT. The Mustang 5.0 did 0-60 in 6.2 seconds easily wasting the IROC. Do some research on 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times and you'll see the Mustang was consistently faster than the IROC.
So, go ahead, show me where they were compared... show me where the IROC was the faster car.
I just bought a confused Camaro; it has a Berlinetta front bumper, a what looks like a Firebird spoiler and a 305 w/700r4 trans. It has 347000 miles on it and the speedo is in km/ph WTF, but it runs excellent and gets 24mpg. Beat that Slostangs.
LS1 vette motor Camaros are a steal. 67 to 70 truly great ones also... And the new one is a rocket.
I have one word to beat every Mustang and Camaro. That is Mopar, so stop fighting and get a Mopar, then you will know what fast is.
So if I buy a K car, I will beat every Mustang out there? You said Mopar right? Seriously though... that is a very broad comment. The Challenger of today is the slowest of the Camaro, Mustang and Challenger shootout. It is larger and heavier. The Mustang is the quickest and best handling. Mopar cars haven't really been competitive in the Pony car wars since the original Hemi days 40 years ago. They offered little in the late 70's, nothing in the 80's or 90's (other than the occasional rebadged Mitsubishi) and even today they are too big and heavy to be real competition. Don't get me wrong, the Challenger is a very nice car overall, but even in SRT format, it isn't the performer the other two cars are.
