2003 Chevrolet Cavalier LS Sport Coupe 2.2 Ecotec from North America

Summary:

Good for the money

Faults:

The front brakes are constantly needing replacement and the rear ones weren't even working for the first 30K miles.

The windshield wiper linkage broke on the driver side.

A fog light and the center console light have burned out.

General Comments:

Besides anything that has gone wrong with the car, it's a very good car. I do drive a lot and put a lot of miles on it, so its to be expected. I've never had a problem with it starting or any other mechanical performance problem. I would recommend this car to anyone that would like a cheap, nice looking car.

2003 Chevrolet Cavalier LS 2.0 Ecotec from North America

Summary:

Reliable car and has great rebates

Faults:

Tail light (right-rear) went out twice was recalled and fixed properly. My rear left speaker blew out.

General Comments:

Sticker of my cavalier was $19,200 after rebates I paid $13,300. Great deal because I have family members that work for GM. It has a quick and reliable ecotec 2.2. I had a 2001 Grand AM GT that was am lemon before this. It had major computer problems so they bought it back. But as far as the cavalier its reliable and good on gas. I hope to get a cobalt SS in the end of 2006 for my next car.

2003 Chevrolet Cavalier LXx from North America

Summary:

Pretty good car..

Faults:

The car would die when you stopped or attempted to slow down.

The rear left blinker bulb went out a month after I bought it.

The keyless entry stopped working and had to be reprogrammed three times.

The odometer stopped working and just read error.

The car wouldn't crank and shut down and the computer wouldn't reprogram.

All of this happened the first year I had the car!!!

General Comments:

I had to take this car to the shop so many times that I started asking for brochures on the lemon laws in my state. Everytime I picked it up something else went wrong. The problem ended up being the mechanics instead of the car.

The computer was bad in the car and was causing different systems to shut down. I kept asking if it was the computer, but oh no, that was impossible. Finally, I was told the car was safe to drive and it wouldn't crank after I left the dealer, and had to have it towed back, the dealer decided to order a new computer. Since then I haven't had any problems. The car runs great, gets good gas mileage, is stylish, and I love it!!

Was this your first manual transmission car? It sounds like you aren't shifting quick enough or leaving you foot on the clutch too long, which is why it could be stalling between shifts.

2003 Chevrolet Cavalier nase model 2.2L ecotec from North America

Summary:

Not a bad car to street race in

Faults:

Well the stock CD player doesn't give enough power to my new speakers.

The clock fades in and out when the bass hits. no biggy though.

The shocks are way too soft for my intentions.

General Comments:

This car exceeded my expectations. my friend has a 99 2 door cavalier, and I feel like mine is better stock.

The cat back exhaust I put on it sounds very nice.

Great gas mileage.
