1990 Chevrolet Cavalier CL review from North America
"Reliable car with minor problems"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
My timing belt broke at 115,500 miles. It leaks oil into the air filter.
The driver's seat is wearing badly. The car wants to stall when it's idling.
The right turn signal does not work. I replaced the bulb and it still don't work.
The windshield wipers switch broke at 122,450 miles.
General comments?
With all the things that are wrong with the car. It still runs very well. I recently took it to North Carolina, and it got 36 miles per gallon. I normally get about 28 to 32 miles per gallon. The cabin is a bit plain with a boring control panel. The speedometer makes a noise when it is cold outside. The back seats are very uncomfortable with little leg room.
The climate control is quite simple either hot or cold. The cars air condition is broke, which means I roast in the summer and in the winter the heater is too hot.
