I bought the SW for $100 bucks 12,000 miles ago.
The SW had 198,000 miles on it at time of purchase. Bought it off of the 3rd owner. He is a mechanic by trade, he rebuilt the engine at 180,000.
Right off this awesome wagon needed complete exhaust system, from the Header pipe to the Cat converter on back to the muffler. Saved $100 bucks by buying the parts from a parts dealer.
Fuel line partial replacement.
Power steering fluid line replaced.
Front brakes and calipers.
Rear brakes.
The power of the V6,2.8L engine is a joy. Love the hot noise of this engine. Runs strong, comfortable, a real pleasure to drive.
The cabin is immaculate and the seats are comfortable.
The doors are developing some serious rust at the bottom. However I plan to do whatever it takes to keep this beauty looking and running good.
Your car rox my socks!!! I am also a fan of the CELEBRITY power.
Know that the car your driving is safe in an accident too. I wrecked my '89 Celeb Wagon headon into a concrete barrier at 50 mph 1 year ago. I DROVE (not walked) away unharmed. I barely felt the impact. The car still drove straight with no frame damage and the 2.8 Multiport engine stayed strong with not a single leak or drop of fluid. The car continues to be a great performer today; I sold it to my neighbor who repaired the body damage himself and uses it for his painting business. Best car I ever had...
I had a 1987 Eurosport with the 2.8 V6. Paid 200$ for it and sold it 300$ 2 years later. Two winters with almost no trouble. The door lock was hard sometimes at winter and I had to repaint the bottom because of the rust. Water was passing thru the roof, but I was still the winner at every green light.
Miss the sound of the engine. Should have taped it.
