2007 Chevrolet Cobalt LS 2.2 from North America

Summary:

Great

Faults:

Loose stabilizer link at 28500.

General Comments:

Love the car, it runs almost flawlessly. Really good on gas. I do at least 30 to 50 miles a day, sometimes even more. Good interior and fairly good exterior design. I do not like the material they used for the seats, it gets dirty fast but that is not a biggie. Exterior looks great except the car has some blind spots and the small rear windows do not help any. I've seen some of these with the spoiler on them (mine does not have it), rear view is not the greatest but if you put spoiler on it I think it would be nearly impossible to see anything. I like how dashboard is set-up and all the buttons you need (radio, ac, etc...) are always close to you. I can safely say I do not regret buying this car, and probably will keep buying this type of car in the future.

2007 Chevrolet Cobalt LS 2.2 ecotec from North America

Summary:

Love it, best car I ever owned

Faults:

Passenger stabilizer bar end link.

General Comments:

Love the car, runs great, easy on gas. Considering I do roughly minimum 120 kms a day, some days up to 200 a day, it's peppy, and I still pull on average 6,5 to 7,2 litres per 100 kms.

The AC doesn't seem to affect the power output.

Well designed car; the only thing I do not like about it, is getting the seat to fold forward to get to the back.

Can drive this car for hours on end and do not feel discomfort.

The dash is well laid out and the information center is a nice toy to have.

I had problems with the stabilizer end link, but I was told by a buddy of mine, who happens to be a Goodwrench mechanic, that it's a common problem with these cars. It got fixed and GM provided me with a nice rental for the time it was in the shop.

I do not regret getting rid of my Hyundai; all that did was send me to garage with expensive bills. GM is good with warranty as they honour it no questions asked.

I would recommend all my friends and family to get a Cobalt, and some already did, and they do not regret getting it.

I have a 2007 Cobalt LS and it's the best Chevy I've ever had. I'm glad I didn't believe all the hype that the import lovers pump out. It's a sensible car that's comfortable and dependable.

2007 Chevrolet Cobalt LT2 2.2 from North America

Summary:

Fandamntastic

Faults:

Factory tire blew out on me on the highway at about 10,000 miles. Dealer immediately gave me 4 new Hankook tires, 5 free oil changes, and a free complete detail. They took care of me very well and were quite apologetic about it. The problem was reported and it seemed to just be a faulty tire from the factory, no big deal, it happens.

General Comments:

I love this car, It has been very good to me.

The 2.2L Ecotec engine is pretty peppy for a 4 cylinder, at 148 horsepower, its not too bad for still averaging 30 miles a gallon.

I got the sport package, i.e. alloys, spoiler, coupe, and front and rear fascias, without the high output, or supercharged engine.

Again, I would recommend this car to anyone, I commute about 60 miles a day to school and back, and I love the gas mileage, and I can still blow just about any honda I come across off the road!

2007 Chevrolet Cobalt LT 2.2L 4 cylinder. from North America

Summary:

Great car for early career professionals!

General Comments:

No noted problems. I decided on the car because of price and reviews that I have heard about it. The two door coupe is very roomy for a compact car and has a very sharp interior. Very quiet and reliable. Also, it tends to be great in the snow; I usually get out before the snowplows do in the morning, and this car handles well on the hills and back roads.

I average about 27 to 29 MPG of mixed (mostly city) driving, with one tank averaging 37 MPG on the highway. Compared to some automatics that I've had, this is a great money saver.

I'm not sure GM could make a better, more cost effective car, and I really hope they do not discontinue it as planned in 2009.

I was going to say, how can you rate a poor car this high? Seeing what it replaced, it all makes sense.
