"Reliable, good quality multi-purpose vehicle"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

When I first bought the van I had to replaced the front tires and front brake lines to pass inspection.

The A/C compressor needs to be replaced as it has a leak.

Headlight lenses have holes in them.

Coolant temperature sensor sender doesn't work correctly.

General comments?

This van is not the greatest looking, but it gets you from point A to point B! My van is currently teal with some ugly pin stripping and a gray interior. My van has the 3.1L V6 with the 3 speed transmission. Right now I get about 20-23MPG city/highway mixed. Found out I had a bad vacuum hose on the injector body so my mileage was sitting at about 16MPG. Went to Saskatoon on a tank. 125 KPH with A/C on and both back windows open, made 23MPG (that's with bad vacuum hose, bad cap & rotor). Could probably get over 25MPG now.

So far, I have replaced the following:

-> Front Brake lines

-> Both front tires and 1 back tire

-> Spark plugs with genuine AC Delco

-> Spark plug wires

-> Cap and rotor (these were long gone, nothing left of the center contact and there was some rubbing evident)

-> Fuel filter

-> PCV valve

-> Front and rear wiper blades

-> Added AC Delco EOS to the oil when I did a change.

Things still to do to the van:

-> Replace the headlight lenses

-> Replace headlight bulbs with GE Nighthawk

-> Replace Coolant temperature sensor sender

-> Replace the A/C compressor (probably get one from Pick 'N Pull)

-> Clean the entire inside

-> Paint the exterior a nice dark metallic blue and black

-> Check the timing and correct.

I work as a lube tech at a GM dealership in Spruce Grove so I do all the work myself and get the parts cheap. It's nice that all 5 rear seats come out individually. Can fit a 4'x8' sheet of plywood in it!

I would recommend this van to anyone. But I would recommend the Pontiac or Olds version with the 3.8L and 4SPD auto instead.
