"This is the best car for the money"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

The blinker "works" in the steering head was replaced at 200k.

The alternator replace at 110k.

The starter replaced at 180k.

The waterpump replaced at 210k.

Thermostat replaced 2 times, 125k and 240k.

Repainted at 100k, and is now peeling.

General comments?

This has been the best family car I have ever owned and has never rusted. This is the model without power windows, but has AC (still cold) and power steering/brakes and it all works and never worked on in 250k!

It has always use about 1 quart of oil in between oil changes, even did this when it had only 100k on it.

The springs/struts/front-end is now worn as the rest of the car, but who can blame it. This was mostly city driving.

I did all the oil changes/work myself except the blinker and paint.

The serpentine belt, replaced 4 times.

Tire size 15k (all 4) has been replaced 3 times.

The disk pads every 40k.

I appreciate your record of repairs. I am currently looking at a 1995 Lumina Sedan 3.1L non-LS. I wanted to know what others thought of it and what repairs I would be making down the road. Every used car will need some work eventually. It's better to be aware of what may come.
