I own a 2003 Trailblazer and had a problem with the car not starting in the mornings. After 10 tries it would eventually start and it was fine for the rest of the day. I took it to the Dealer and they changed the anti-theft device. Apparently the anti-theft device would not recognise/forget my key after the car was idle overnight. It's been 3 months now and I have had no problems with it any more.

I own a 2002 Trailblazer. I've had trouble with it for a while, and have had trouble starting it. It will crank, but has trouble starting, I have had to press the gas pedal down and then it will start, but it misses and it smells like bad fuel. Then it accelerates up to about 2000rpm, and after a little while it idles back to normal. It happens regularly ,and the Chevrolet dealer can't figure out the problem. I'm tired of thinking about getting rid of it. Anybody figured out problem? Please let me know.

Thanks, Ruben.

I have been having problems with my 2003 Trailblazer starting for over a year now. I have 70k miles on it. It will start fine when it has not been driven, but after driving 5-15 minutes and turning off it is hard to start. It turns over, but will not start until I press the gas very hard. Then it starts, but the RPMs race and the temperature gauge doesn't move. The check engine lights also comes on and goes off intermittently. I have taken it to the dealer and they cannot replicate the issue. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi! Same problem; '03 Trailblazer not starting, lots of power, anti-theft and engine lights are on. After jump starting, the problems started. I had the ignition switch replaced 2 weeks ago; the problem ocurred agian yesterday. I am going back to shop tomorrow, and will keep you posted.

They think it has to do with the Remote Start. So they have disconnected it and we will see if it happens again. If it does, I'm pretty sure it is the "PCM".

Cheers.

I have an 03 Trailblazer. It was running fine, and then died in the drivethru today. It would not start, would not shift out of park, my windows were all half down and it started raining. I had no radio, only interior and exterior lights working. My gauges are not working either. I had it towed to my house and people are telling me it is the ignition switch also. I am wondering about this anti theft thing though.

I think that I will replace the ignition switch and see how that is. I will post again after replacement.

I have a 2003 Trail Blazer and it won't start in the mornings. I have changed the ignition switch, fuel pump, fuses, crank shaft sensor, computer and battery. And still every morning it won't start. I have had this vehicle to the dealer 3 times and still nothing. Any one have any ideas about how to keep this car running?

I might add my story to the mix, I had my Bravada since 2002, same car as the Trailblazer & Envoy. I got 95,000 miles on it, I had the starting issue for few weeks now, it gave in last Friday, it would not start, took it to my mechanic, he traced the issue to a faulty ignition switch, I hope that takes car of it.

(brief history: broken axle, drive belt ripped twice, idle pulley broke, water bump broke, side view mirrors that don't know where to point, radio that refuses to work sometimes, window/seat control unit on the driver door goes dead and back to life, gas consumption went up, oh, and the rear air spring ruptured and took the rear shocks with it - Still, I LOVE MY CAR, but it is the last made in America for me!)

I have an '03 Trailblazer LS, for the most part, I love it. But, at 50 thousand miles the car started acting odd, loss of power, roared like a jet engine, and burning fuel like crazy.

We thought it was the tranny, replaced the screen in the transmission (it was cruddy), and the car still ran the same. Our mechanic said it was the water pump, replaced it and the car still ran poorly, the water pump really was bad. After looking through the internet we found that it was a faulty fan clutch and the GM will not issue a recall. Many, many people seem to have the same problem. Our mechanic replaced the fan clutch and the car is running fine. Now I am going to contact GM and see what they will do for me (wish me luck).

I own a 2003 Trailblazer LT, with 64,000 miles. I started experiencing problems with my truck last winter. I attempted to start my vehicle one morning and nothing happened. The lights, radio and everything worked, but it wouldn't start. I had the truck towed to the dealer and later that evening the technician called and said the truck started and nothing was wrong with it. I went through the same thing several more times during the course of the winter. I had no problem during the summer months, so I assumed it was just a passing thing.

Winter is once again here and I'm having the the same issues. I have contacted GM with this issue and they said they have not had this complaint from anyone else. I am completely disappointed. I loved my truck and wasn't anticipating having to purchase a new vehicle, but at this point I don't have a choice.

Please give people a reason to want to own american made vehicles!!!

Wow, I am amazed at the reviews I am reading. I have owned my 03 Trailblazer EXT for the past 3 years however the problems did not begin until about 18 months ago at 37000 miles with transmission problems. Two trips to the dealership got those issues resolved. however I have also had the ignition switch replaced during that time as well. The latest dilemma is the fan clutch and PCM issue. I have not gotten it fix yet because the dealer wants $1500 for the repair. The truck has 50,000 miles on it and at this point I am willing to scrap it for parts. Any takers? rbeazer@earthlink.net

I have a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer and it just turned 100,000 miles - its had its problems, but today after returning home, it just won't start. Lights work, battery is OK, but nothing. I let it sit for a few hours and tried it again, this time it cranks, but sounds like a hammering sounds and still won't start. Also blower doesn't work on heat or AC, odometer and speedometer don't reset or don't work. Taking to the shop tomorrow.
