2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer from North America

Summary:

Very unreliable and a huge money pit.

Faults:

Before warranty was up:

The backseat driver side window will no longer go up or down.

The right tail light has had to be replaced three times so far. (recall)

The dealership replaced the first tail light because of the recall, but refused to pay for the additional replacements.

The weather stripping is coming off the doors.

We had to have 4 large cracks fixed in the front windshield.

The fan that cools the engine had to be replaced.

After warranty was up:

The fan that cools the engine had to be replaced again.

The water pump had to be replaced.

The gear shifter pops up and off making it very hard to actually change gears safely.

The key has been stuck in the ignition twice.

General Comments:

This SUV is comfortable and roomy and makes for nice traveling. However, the chances of it getting you where you are going are not too good.

Our Trailblazer has been nothing but one big money pit and we are now looking at trading it in for something more reliable. Honestly, every other Trailblazer owner I have ever known has had multiple problems with their TB too and many of the same problems we had with ours.

I recommend you not waste your money on this vehicle.

I noticed you had an auto there... If the shifter is not all the way into park, it will not release the key, an annoying safety feature. And how can windshield cracks be a manufacturer defect? You just seem unlucky with stone chips! Don't blame your truck for your driving. I don't even have a Trail Blazer, or a chevy anything for that matter. Read "High and Mighty" by Keith Bradsher, it'll open your eyes to a lot of stuff about SUV's you should know. and another thing... Learn to spell, don't let your brain go to "WASTE"

Waste is spelled correctly.

Actually she said the gear shifter pops off; nothing about the key. TrailBlazers are junk period.

2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer LS from North America

Summary:

I have my complaints, but overall I would recommend this vehicle to anyone

Faults:

I bought my Trialblazer with 37,000 miles on it. With in two weeks of purchase I had it back in the shop three times. The first time was about a load squeaking sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. No one knows what it is, but they think it is my exhaust rubbing. Then there is a roaring sound coming from my front tires and you can feel vibrations in the gas pedal while driving. The most recent I was driving down the road and went to turn right only to realize my hazard lights were coming on.

General Comments:

This is the first "new" vehicle I have ever bought. I have always been a Ford person as has my whole family. I had more trouble with them than they were worth so I thought I would try something different.

Overall I am very pleased with my choice to purchase the Trailblazer.

It is comfortable and roomy. Comes equipped with plenty of features (some of which I will never use).

2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer LX from North America

Summary:

This car is unreliable

Faults:

I have had my car in the shop three times in the past six weeks. When I go to turn my car on, it will just not start. The lights, radio and everything works. When I turn the key, nothing happens at all. This happened two times. I had to get the car towed to the dealer. When the dealer looked at it the next morning, the car turned right on. The first time they changed the ignition switch. The second time they changed the starter. However, they stated since they could not duplicate the problem there was no way of fixing it. There is nothing they could do. Just the other day I was backing out of a parking spot. I put the car in reverse, the in drive. When I put the car in drive I stepped on the gas and nothing!! The same thing. The radio, lights and everything worked. The car would just not do anything. I turned the car off and turned it back on again. I left the car at the dealer. I contacted Chevy. they said there is nothing they could do if the dealer could not duplicate the problem. This is the third day my car is at the dealer. They still cannot duplicate the problem.

General Comments:

This car is extremely unreliable. When I wake up in the morning I never know if my car will start.

I also had the same problem just this morning with my 2003 Trailblazer not starting. Everything worked, but it wouldn't start. I have just spent three hours at the Chevrolet place having an alternator replaced.

They did not mention the other things.

Well the alternator was not the problem. My 2003 Trailblazer is now back in the shop. But this time it wouldn't start for the dealership either. They have called GM in on this and they have no idea what is wrong with the car. It has now been at the dealership 4 days. It's pretty sad when the manufacturing can't find out what is wrong with their product. Maybe there will be a recall on the vehicles if and when they figure out what is going on.
