The car, despite its name for being just a bit unreliable, has never required anything more than scheduled servicing, except for a minor problem with a tiny hole in its refrigerator which was so easy to repair.
Its handling is superb, and its engine strong, fast and reliable. In its age, it was the best in its class, and that means too much.
It can also protect its passengers quite well for its size and age. I had the misfortune of a serious crash recently, when a Jeep rammed my car on the passenger's side with about 80 kilometers per hour, as the police said, and I was left with a broken right ankle and a great deal of pain for about two months until my foot cast came off just yesterday. I cannot walk properly yet, but this small sized car offered the best protection it could to me. The insurance totaled it out as expected. Thankfully, there was no passenger on the right though... Anyway now I am thinking of buying a new car, much larger and safer, probably the new Mercedes E Class or the BMW new 5 series. We all have to be careful when driving, since the red light the other driver crossed while speaking on his mobile phone could have cost a human life, and if I was more careful and had I cast a glimpse to his side, I could have avoided all this suffering for both me and the other driver.
Lovely except you don't talk about the car much, just your accident...
